About Us
We are a partnership dedicated to improving mental health and well-being predominantly through the medium of LEGO® bricks.
Alyson Thomsen is often referred to as “The LEGO® Lady” by the many children that she plays and builds with; and is somewhat preoccupied by what can be achieved with LEGO® bricks and a bit of imagination!
Noticing that she was working with an increasing number of children that were struggling socially and emotionally within the school setting, Aly began her journey into the therapeutic world and consequently Thera-Build® was conceived.
As a former Senior Teacher and Certified LEGO® Trainer, Aly works with schools, charities and Trusts to provide quality commissioned projects for children, and also facilitates training for parents, carers and professionals in the use of LEGO® as a therapeutic tool. She is the Author of Thera-Build® with LEGO®, A Playful Therapeutic Approach for Promoting Emotional Well-Being in Children, and the Thera-Build® with LEGO® Resource Book.
